This is the dragon from Norse Mythology that knaws on the roots of Yggdrasil, the World Tree.
Nidhoggr dwells in Niflheim, which is the far northern region of icy fogs and mists, on the lowest level of the Universe. This is where the dead wander before they reach Hel. According to Norse Mythology, Nidhoggr strippes the flesh off of the dead so that they can pass into the spirit world.... This is where I depicted Nidhoggr - In the Misty Mountians of Niflheim.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
